Must have the ability to relate to, and work with, children and adolescents as well as adults.3. Requires familiarity with substance abuse prevention and intervention; working knowledge of the fundamentals of emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues of the students served. 4. Computer skills and knowledge are helpful, particularly the use of internet and email for business purposes.
5. Must be able to complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.6. Must be able to work independently, use sound judgment and creative thinking; and must be able to handle multiple concurrent tasks, work cooperatively and effectively with people from different disciplines, and promote teamwork. Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Supports and educates in general health, substance use, abuse, prevention, and social and emotional wellness.2.Responsible for screening and referral procedures within the school.
3.Collaborates with teachers, administrators, parents, state agencies, providers and communities on behalf of our students. 4.Participates in the district-wide health and wellness council.5.Is a member of NCUHS Student Support Team.6.Is a member of the NCUHS Safety Team.7.Advises the OVX/VKAT tobacco prevention youth groups.8.Supports Tobacco Use Prevention grant through activities, monitoring, and reporting.9.Reviews health and wellness policies.Salary and Benefits: Salary based on experience.
