Job Overview
Responsibilities:
- Supervise Health Information Specialists, including coordinating with program supervisor to monitor all areas of professional development.
- Oversee all Billing Information System entries for assigned programs/counties.
- Monitor Medicaid documentation of assigned programs.
- Will function as a HIPAA privacy lead at each site within assigned region(s)
- Distribute necessary information to various departments within Seneca as well as outside agencies.
- Communicate with county department of mental health to troubleshoot system errors or billing discrepancies.
- Attend county provider meetings, trainings and workshops and disseminate information on regulation changes
- Manage out of county billing issues.
- Participate in preparation for county or state audits.
- Serve as a liaison between programs and Quality Assurance to communicate changes to documentation guidelines.
- Attend Monthly Quality Assurance management meetings.
- Maintain and update agency documents and manuals.
- Travel to various sites for QA support as needed.
- Provide support, coaching, and training for new Health Information Specialists as requested by Central QA.
- Support programs that have a Health Information Specialist vacancy as requested by Central QA.
- Assist in special projects assigned by Program Directors, Clinical Supervisors and/or Central QA
- Complete additional duties as requested by Program Directors, Clinical Supervisors and/or Central QA.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree required
- Employed as a Seneca Center Health Information Specialist/ Lead Health Information Specialist in good standing (preferred but not required).
- Completion of Management Training Series (preferred but not required).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, computer, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize projects.
- Previous experience in a comparable position.
- Computer literacy with both PC and Macintosh computers with strong proficiency in Excel.
- Experience managing Electronic Health Records.

Ability to work as a member of multi-disciplinary team.
- Valid CA driver’s license and insurability through Seneca’s automobile policy
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearances and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations and booster required
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm
