The Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) at the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitation Services assists individuals with disabilities to make informed choices that will maximize their employment through coordinated service delivery. In collaboration with the Workforce Network, we deliver quality workforce services to individuals with disabilities who want to work and employers seeking to hire them.
The incumbent in this position will provide comprehensive employment focused services in conjunction with vocational rehabilitation services team which result in employment and increased enhanced independent living for persons with disabilities while complying with federal, state, and agency policy and procedures. Duties will include: Working with local workforce development boards, one-stop centers, referral sources and employers to develop work opportunities for (adults and students) with varying disabilities. Core case management services may include career guidance and counseling, employer engagement/cultivation, Pre-Employment Services, job seeking skills preparation comprising of applications, resumes, interviewing, job negotiation, self-advocacy skills and job placement services. Caseload may consist of Students, youth, and adults with varying disabilities including, but not limited to serious mental illness, substance abuse, hearing impairment and all other disabilities.
The incumbent in this position will work out of our Culpeper DRS office, which provides services in the counties of Fauquier, Rappahannock, Culpeper, Orange and Madison.
