Your skills combined with the training we provide, will allow you to gain multidisciplinary skills in assisting with the care of our patients.
Our Community Behavioral Health Center is licensed to 73 beds, carries an average daily census of 69 patients, and has an average length of stay of 5-6 days. Here, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will assist in the delivery of daily care. As a Mental Health Worker , you will provide direct patient care and assistance with basic life skills to our patients.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides direct patient care and assistance with basic life skills for acutely ill mental patients from their arrival through discharge.
Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
- Successful completion of one of the following three options: (1) Obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program; (2) Obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program; or (3) Nursing Fundamental courses from an accredited clinical RN or LVN program (typically done in the 1st semester) required
- Current enrollment in an accredited school of Nursing for RN or LVN program preferred
Experience
- 1 year of direct patient care experience required
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS – Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
- One of the following is required
CNA – State of California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (active of inactive status is acceptable)
EMT – Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable)
RN or LVN Student/Graduate
