Southeast Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Southeast Missouri. Our 102-bed facility offers a wide range of mental, emotional, and behavioral health services for teens, adults and seniors experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and co-occurring substance use issues. Our brand-new and modern facility is initially offering inpatient behavioral health services for adults and will continue to open units and add further services in a phased approach through 2021.

MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (MHT) – DAYS
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescents through geriatrics. All MHT’s work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications
Requirements
Education: High School Degree or equivalent required; Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
Hours: Days (12-hour shifts): 6:30am – 7:00pm. Must work rotating weekends.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion Management Aggressive Behavior Training, Handle with Care, Service Excellence Training and CPR certification required. MHT’s must successfully complete 75 hours of classroom/computer based instruction and 100 hours of supervised clinical practicum. MHT’s may be required to work weekends, overtime and have flexible hours.
