Part Time-30 hours/week


Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands is
 an innovative community program serving family caregivers in Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties by connecting them with a circle of help that includes trained volunteers who provide an array of respite services. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for family caregivers of older adult loved ones by engaging the broader community to provide assistance and respite services. Our program is growing and we are seeking a Manager of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to play a key role as our program expands.

The Manager of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will provide expertise in assessing potential barriers and developing strategies to recruit and serve diverse caregivers. Leveraging existing language and cultural resources of PJI’s staff and partners, you will oversee DEI events to promote awareness and education of WHHH DEI-related events and trainings, partner in the designing and launching of caregiver programs focused on underrepresented groups, and facilitates participation in the Advisory Committees.

You will be responsible for leading outreach and promotional activities throughout the region.

These will include discussions and distribution of culturally appropriate materials, presentations and other outreach activities at residences, senior centers, churches, health fairs and local gatherings, as well as one-on-one meetings with agency representatives and elected officials.

The ideal candidate has experience working with diverse older adults, and their family caregivers. 1+ years of experience in the delivery of social services, community outreach or working in a DEI role strongly preferred. College degree in Social Work, Counseling, Health Care Administration strongly preferred; NYS licensure/certification in Social Work a plus. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to communicate pleasantly and effectively with a diverse range of people. We also require all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
