The Manager Clinical Services provides clinical supervision to the counseling staff of the Melrose Wellness Center. This includes developing clinical programs, policies and procedures, accountability systems, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies and supervising and evaluating the work of clinical staff.
- Ensure that all patients are provided with optimal clinical services appropriate to their level of need.
- Confirm patient treatment needs are appropriately assessed and responded to by clinical staff. Provide comprehensive psychological services to patients in need of crisis management when the clinic physician is not available and document services in the
- Certify compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies for clinical components of treatment. Participate in accreditation activities and assist with corrective actions as necessary
- Attend interdisciplinary case conferences when necessary.
- Assist in the development, implementation and enforcement of clinical policies, protocols and programs. Develop accountability systems for maintaining timeliness and quality of documentation and monitor ongoing compliance with accountability systems.
- Monitor performance and productivity; initiate and implement disciplinary action, as appropriate. Identify deficient or incomplete documentation, provide appropriate feedback, and track corrective actions.
- Keep abreast of the research literature and new developments in the field and assist with research projects that occur at the Division.
- Audit patient charts and identify, develop and implement strategies for improvement of clinical operations. Ensure consistency and continuity of clinical practices in the Division. Participate in monthly Continuous Quality Improvement meetings.
- Monitor the treatment status of patients with AIDS and HIV infection, psychiatric disorders and child welfare issues.
- Make on-site inspections of clinical operations; consult with counseling, administrative and executive staff.
- Develop accountability systems for maintaining and monitoring ongoing compliance with accountability systems.
- Communicate with clinic administrators and executive staff members during clinical meetings.
- Coordinate staff in-service education at the clinic level; maintain agenda and attendance logs. Identify specific training needs of clinical staff and provide suggestions to the Senior Coordinator of Social Services. Coordinate in-service staff training and outside
- Coordinate all graduate social work internships.
- Assist in the interviewing and hiring appropriate staff.
- Document and maintain written supervisory logs and provide feedback to the Senior Coordinator of Social Services.
- Provide individual and group supervision to counseling staff, as needed.
- Provide orientation regarding clinic policies and procedures for newly hired counseling staff and intensive supervision to newly hired counseling staff within the 90-day probationary period. Provide feedback to Site Director and Senior Coordinator of Social
Services.
- 3 years+ Social Work experience Social Work required.
- Master’s Degree is required, PhD in Psychology preferred.
- LCSW required.
- NY State license required.
- Expertise in assessment and treatment of substance abuse and 3 years + experience as a clinical supervisor.
- Must type 40 wpm and pass with acceptable scores on Microsoft Word, and Outlook. Use of Excel necessary to track counselor progress.
- Must possess the ability to multi-task efficiently.
- Ability to develop and use systems to track counselors’ work and job performance.
- Strong management skills, highly developed critical thinking skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong time-management skills, and attention to detail.
