Job Overview
To provide assessment and treatment services to Synergy Service’s clients and their families in the school based program. To provide consultation services and professional development to school staff as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Clinical Services
- Provides direct clinical counseling services to students in the school setting including assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy and support/psychoeducation groups (may include in-home work);
- Provides professional development regarding trauma to school staff;
- Assists with trauma-informed care implementation in the school setting;
- Provides crisis management as needed;
Case Coordination
- Provides treatment planning, case management and follow-up of cases;
- Provides support calls and networks with other agencies;
- Represents the agency at legal proceedings and responds to subpoenas;
- Writes reports as requested;
- Makes outside referrals for additional services as appropriate;
- Maintains client files according to agency documentation standards;
Supervision and Training
- Participates in monthly peer supervision;
- Participates in weekly supervision with the Clinical Manager to discuss cases and create a plan for ways to mitigate vicarious trauma;
- Participates in professional development and training in order to maintain requirements for licensure;
- Supervisory Responsibilities*
- Potentially provides supervision to practicum or intern students;
- Expected to assist other employees by sharing experience, expertise and training;

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree (MA/MS) in psychology, social work, counseling, marital and family, art therapy, or other applied behavior science degree and a license in the State of Missouri.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
The employee must be provisionally licensed as a therapist at the Master’s level (Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Social Worker). Must have a valid driver’s license.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to drive personal vehicle. Must possess the ability to type and work with computer software, including Windows, EXCEL, Word for Windows, Access, and PowerPoint.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is often required to stand, walk, and sit on chairs or the floor with young children. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or communicable diseases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to the risk of violence and secondary trauma.
