Position Responsibilities:

The Family Based Mental Health Worker (MHW) works as a team member with a therapist to provide Family Based services, utilizing the Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) model. Gemma Services coordinates the ESFT training for all Family Based employees, and it is offered during work hours.

Services are delivered primarily in the familys home and include: assessments, service coordination and linkages, crisis intervention and prevention, educational and daily living skills, collaboration with all systems involved with the youth and family, and assist the therapist in the delivery of individual, group, and family therapy.

The MHW is responsible for collaboration with team members to implement goals identified by the family in the treatment plan, access community resources, and assist family members and other care takers in developing skills to access other systems supports. The MHW works with the family to identify appropriate referrals and supports the family with those referrals. In addition, the MHW assists with skill building activities as identified in the treatment plan, and to coordinates activities such as the CASSP or interagency team meeting and other necessary meetings. Responsibilities will also include client/family support and counseling, documentation, client/family outreach, systems outreach, school consultation, and crisis intervention and prevention.

This is a Monday Friday full-time position, based on the scheduling needs of the families served, including a rotating on-call schedule.

Ideal candidate must reside in Philadelphia, PA or surrounding Tri-State areas.

Education/Training:

A Bachelors Degree with at least 12 credit hours in psychology, counseling, family therapy, sociology, social work, nursing, education, rehabilitation counseling, or theology, from an accredited college or university.

Skill(s):

Knowledge of FBMHS program operations and related standards.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook

Experience:

A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP), or in another child or adolescent mental health setting.
