Job Overview
Assembly House 150 is offering a full-time, management team position to ensure the effective planning and implementation of organization-wide educational programming and to expand engagement with community stakeholders, including educators, trades industry professionals and AH150 volunteers.
The Educational Programs and Community Engagement Manager will expand the reach and impact of Assembly House 150 educational programs, including the SACRA construction skills training program, the Model City Builders high school program, and skill-building internship programs. The Educational Programs and Community Engagement Manager will lead recruitment, plan life-skills success workshops and connect program graduates with job opportunities. In addition, the Educational Programs and Community Engagement Manager will build relationships with our Alumni and Volunteer base and will support community relationship building through outreach to schools, educators and industry stakeholders in the trades. The position also entails management of program grants and assistance with organization-wide administrative duties.
Assembly House 150 is an innovative and growing nonprofit art, design and construction incubator and experiential learning center in Buffalo, NY. Assembly House 150 is an art-driven organization that creates inspiring, wondrous environments for all to experience the art of building. Home to the SACRA construction skills training program, Assembly House 150 brings together artists, architects, designers, building industry tradespeople, artisans, students, apprentices and others to build awareness of the built environment, teach skills in design and construction, work together on impactful community projects and empower people through creative action. We use the creative fusion of diverse audiences and stakeholders to shape the planning, design and construction of the built environment.
Main Responsibilities Include:
Educational Programs Planning and Implementation
- Collaborating with instructors to produce impactful program outcomes
- Organizing educational workshops with staff and guest instructors, including life-skills success workshops, and organizing program schedules
- Leading recruitment efforts for skill-building programs and onboarding participants
- Supporting program participants facing issues regarding housing, transportation, mental health, re-entry, etc. by connecting them to appropriate service providers and helping to resolve issues
- Connecting program participants to relevant employment opportunities and supporting them in their pursuit of a career in the trades
Community Engagement
- Strengthening and maintaining relationships with organization alumni and volunteer bases
- Strengthening and maintaining relationships with industry tradespeople, organizations, educators, and employers
- Planning pathways for community members to connect with Assembly House programming.
Administrative Duties
- Managing program grant contracts and grant reporting
- Co-Leading key stakeholder tours
- Assisting with AH150 email inquiries, phone calls, and etc.
Skills
- 2-5 years experience in Program Management
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Education or Social Work
- Excellent communication skills
- Exemplary people skills
- Proficient in Excel & Microsoft Office
- Ability to function in a team setting
- Ability to independently manage projects
- Creative Problem Solver
