Starting Pay Rate: 19.50

I) Job Purpose

The Crisis Team Leader provides support to the all upper management, supervises program staff, and provides administrative support to the rest of the Crisis Services Department. The Crisis Team Leader provides oversight for all aspects of the program and oversees daily operations. The Crisis Team Leader conducts program analysis to identify system issues and recommendations for effective and efficient use of resources and then implements appropriate solutions. The Crisis Team Leader will apply both clinical experience and administrative expertise to ensure a team approach to servicing patients and to meeting program needs and demands.

II) Essential Functions

A) Competence appropriate to understanding program reports and implementing informed interventions to augment success on any and all applicable metrics.

B) Exercise appropriate clinical judgment to mitigate crisis and routine situations for all stakeholders of MHMR Tarrant including employees and any applicable contracted entities and community partners in accordance with clinical supervision and agency trainings.

C) Able to conform to responsibilities involving program maintenance and oversight including daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and assessment.

D) Maintain the ability to guide staff in assessing and determining which services best meet ongoing patient needs and help employees track the progress toward recovery goals.

E) Capable of managing the onboarding and coordination of ongoing training and support for all staff involved in the coordination of services for the patients of the Crisis Services Department.

F) Responsible for the management of staff time and scheduling

G) Able to exercise constant flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the inherent nature of the Crisis Services Department as it relates to all aspects of service provision.

H) Demonstrates impeccable communication skills and a commitment to leadership development consistent with the need to act as an interim Program Manager when no other management is immediately available.

III) Knowledge of Laws, Regulations, Policies/Procedures, Skills, and Abilities

A) Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.

B) Knowledge of mental health assessment techniques.

C) Working knowledge of psychopathology and DSM V classes of major mental illness.

D) Knowledge of the principles of Crisis Intervention.

E) High level of advocacy/arbitration/negotiation/conflict resolution skills.

F) Ability to think clearly under pressure and to perform effectively in high stress situations.

G) Knowledge of community resources and demonstrated skill in making productive person-centered referrals.

H) Knowledge of all applicable standards for the Crisis Services Department including, but not limited to, CARF, 1115, Performance Contract, Info Item V, TAC, CCBHC, and more.

I) Knowledge of all applicable agency policies and procedures.

J) Ability to maintain clear and concise documentation.

K) Ability to provide leadership consistent with the ideals of the Crisis Services Department (namely Servant Leadership, 360 Leadership, and more)

L) Demonstrated ability to grow and consistently challenge oneself and team to improve efficiencies and results on the individual, team, program, and departmental levels.

M) Ability to organize work independently.

N) Ability to work independently without or with limited supervision.

O) Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and holidays.

P) Attend all necessary meetings at designated time intervals.

Q) Attend and maintain all agency required trainings and refresher courses.

IV) Internal & External Customer Service

A) This position requires extensive internal and external contacts with persons served, family members, significant others, internal staff, external staff, service providers and practitioners, and community partners. The employee accomplishes communication with exceptional written and verbal skills by answering phone calls and emails in a timely fashion as defined by program needs as well as conducting themselves professionally in all interactions.

V) Travel

This position requires transporting clients and driving between locations as an essential function of work. Employees are required to have a license in good standing and be able to be covered by agency liability insurance. If personal vehicle is utilized for work travel, then maintaining personal auto insurance coverage is required.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree

Health or Human Services
Acceptable Degrees (review Behavioral Health column, including substitutions)

Required Experience
One (1) year

Substitutions
High School Diploma with five (5) years’ experience in the behavioral health field and three (3) years’ supervisory experience will substitute for the bachelor’s degree.

Preferences
Bilingual; Minimum three years & 6 months (3.5 years) of experience preferred in a behavioral health/substance-use/disability services area; Master’s degree in a Social, Behavioral, and/or Human Science field; Minimum three (3) year of supervisory experience

Required License(s)
Valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Eligible to obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-CS) certification.
Must provide license (if applicable) and official documentation of all educational attainment i.e. Transcript/Degree/Certificate
