Position Summary: The OLP Therapist is primarily responsible for providing direct therapeutic services to children and families receiving Medicaid in Oswego County. The Therapist will also provide assessment/evaluation services to Medicaid families seeking access to CFTSS services. The Therapist will operate on a fee for service model and have the flexibility to build their caseload and schedule as they see fit. Job Responsibilities: • Conducts licensed evaluation (assessment) for CFTSS including gathering data from parents, children and other relevant sources.
- Develops treatment plans for children for access to CFTSS as appropriate. • Generates a recommendation outlining medical necessity for CFTSS as appropriate. • Provides psychotherapy (counseling) to children and families in a home-based setting in addition to telehealth services. • Provides crisis intervention activities as needed.
- Maintains and updates individual client case records utilizing the EVOLV computer system. • Must be able to work independently and with flexibility. Most youth are available after school hours, ranging from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Weekends are an option but not expected Qualifications: • Must meet the NYS Medicaid qualifications for a non-physician licensed behavioral health practitioner (NP-LBHP).
This includes: Licensed Psychoanalysts, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, and Licensed Masters Social Workers under the supervision of LCSW, licensed Psychologists or Psychiatrists. Experience providing home-based counseling to children and families and completing assessment and treatment planning preferred. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
