CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota – Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Functions as a group facilitator by leading assigned activities and completing documentation timely.
- Assists in performing sensory, motor, educational, recreational, social activities and cognitive behavioural treatments from a psychodynamic approach.
- Provides therapeutic intervention and support to patients in regards to psychosocial, environmental, and physical well-being
- Contributes to the ongoing assessment of the patient/family/guardians educations needs and reports these needs to the multidisciplinary team.
- Communicates with the RN to report changes in patient’s condition.
- Complete the defined job specific competencies including age specific as appropriate.
- Provides concepts learned through education offerings excluding mandatory education.
- Participates in UNCC, Team building and mission activities
Qualifications
- Graduate from a Recreation Therapist program; licensed or license eligible in the State of North Dakota; certified or eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist; no experience required.
