Community Partnership for Child Development provides more than 1,800 children living in poverty or challenged by special circumstances with an early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start and the Colorado Preschool Program. But we aren’t just a free preschool. Our additional health, dental and family support services ensure that children enrolled in our programs are ready to succeed in school and life!

The Behavioral Health oversees the implementation of Behavioral Health services to CPCD’s children and families and CPCD partner sites in order to meet the Head Start Performance Standards. Supervises and leads the daily operation of CPCD’s Behavioral Health team including Behavioral Health Consultants, Behavioral Interventionist(s) and, as needed, Behavioral Health Student Interns, assuring the implementation of CPCD’s Pyramid Approach to Social and Emotional programming. Performs management functions of planning, organizing, monitoring, mentoring, coaching and leading.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, Early Childhood Education or closely related field.
  • Colorado mental health licensure such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC.
  • At least 1 year of Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of child development milestones; understanding of concepts underlying young children’s social-emotional development; strong clinical assessment skills including familiarity with attachment, mental illness and the impact of trauma, poverty, neglect and abuse on child development.
  • Familiarity with Trauma Informed Care.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; experience training large groups of adults and familiarity with adult learning styles.
  • The ability to work with diverse families, community groups and staff.
  • Proven team and leadership skills with willingness to work with a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate program services and implement changes that will enhance the quality of services provided.
  • Must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screen and TB screening. In accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards, must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 unless accommodation/exemption is granted.

Preferred:

· Knowledge of Pyramid Model Practices.

· Familiarity and/or formal training in infant mental health and/or mental health consultation for early childhood.

· Training and/or experience in the use of solution focused therapy.

· Previous experience as a Behavioral Health Consultant
