Work Activities
- An employee in this class may be assigned to or rotated among a number of assignments such as completion of substance use and mental health assessments, treatment plans, crisis management, facilitating groups, file organization, case management, referrals to community resources and individual counseling sessions.
- Complete releases of information, grant entries, client case notes, data collection and monthly reports.
- Complete department training and attend required continuing education credits.
- Works as a clinical position within the Tennessee Department of Correction Day Reporting Center or Community Supervision Field Office.
- Facilitates substance use treatment groups.
- Provides individual counseling addressing substance use and mental health to clients under TDOC supervision.
- Plays an integral part of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Completes substance use and mental health assessments on clients under TDOC supervision.
- Creates and monitors individualized treatment plans for clients under TDOC supervision.
- Collaborates with other treatment agencies when additional intervention is needed.

3. Ability to exercise Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving skills in all settings, including emergencies and high stress situations.

6. Skilled in Time Management and Organization methods.
