Intermediate District 287 is looking for Behavior Intervention Specialists like you for an opening at North Education Center in New Hope, MN for Fall 2022!
Intermediate District 287 is a west metro district for learners with unique needs. As an intermediate district, we provide specialized services, primarily setting IV special education, to students from 11 member districts in the west metro.
What Makes Us Special:
We are a trauma-informed district. We take into account past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms when attempting to understand behaviors and best serve our students.
There is a variety of support services in each school including School Social Workers, Psychologists, Counselors, Behavior Intervention Specialists and Student Safety Coaches. All of whom are student-centered and focused on building relationships with each child.
Small class sizes – typically 6-8 students per class

Salary & Benefits:
Competitive Salary: $43,290 – $88,028 DOE and E
BCBA Certification may be eligible for a $3000 signing bonus!!

Requirements:
Interested in candidates who are: diverse, bilingual, or have experience working with diverse populations.
Requires a valid special education teaching license, school social worker license, or school psychologist license issued by the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB), or someone who is Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA – Nationally certified), or in the process of obtaining the certification.
If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2 teaching license in either ASD or EBD.

Interview Process:
2/25/2022 – Candidates who hold a valid teaching license (Tiers 3 or 4) will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
4/26/2022 – Candidates who do not hold a valid teaching license, who are eligible for a Tier 1 or 2 MN teaching license, will be reviewed on a rolling basis as of this date.
First round interviews are conducted via an online Google form. If selected, the online Google form will be emailed to you. The online form must be completed in order to be considered for an in-person interview.
