Job Overview
SSM Health Dean Medical Group is searching for a master’s prepared Adult/Child Psychotherapist to join our experienced and cohesive behavioral health team consisting of 14 Psychiatrists and over 30 Psychotherapists (Masters Therapists and Psychologists) focused on providing quality mental health support to a diverse patient panel of adults in an outpatient setting. This position is based in our West clinic located in east Madison, WI. This provider will split time between two roles at 50% each: (a) intake clinician, providing clinical assessment, triage and brief interventions to newly referred patients not yet established in psychiatric services, and (b) adult therapist, providing psychotherapy services to a broad adult clientele with a range of medical, social, emotional and behavioral concerns.
The right individual has excellent assessment/diagnostic, triage, crisis stabilization & psychotherapy skills. Experience with multiple modalities consistent with evidence-based practice including CBT and provision of psycho-therapeutic groups.
- 32 patient minimum contact hours
- M-F workweek
- Based in Madison-West Clinic with Telehealth options

- Adult/Child generalist therapy mixed with adult intake clinical assessments
- Adult/Child patient panel
- Psycho-educational group therapy
- Rotation of night/weekend telephone call schedule
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in mental health field
- Completion of 3 years post graduate experience (3,000 hours) with at least 5 years of adult therapy and clinical intake experience
- Active WI License
- LMFT, LPC, LCSW
- Experience using CBT therapy and facilitating psycho-educational group therapy

Manages psychological problems of patients through services consisting of assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and psychotherapy.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans treatment based on the individual client’s needs as well as resources available from the organization and community resources.
- Works in coordination with professionals involved in patient’s care to ensure interdisciplinary collaboration and continuity of services.
- Keeps current knowledge of community resources for supplementary treatment of clients, and makes referrals which adequately and appropriately utilize these resources. Is available for consultation with other staff regarding community resources.
- Provides a continuum of short and long term psychotherapy to individuals, couples families and groups, based on individualized treatment plans.
- Maintains good communication and collaborative relationships with referring physicians and other staff, and recommends additional referrals for patients as needed.
- Carries out ongoing record keeping and case review of all psychotherapy work in compliance with state guidelines.
- Provides assessment (by telephone and in person) of suicidal and homicidal risk and immediacy of crisis situations.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Master’s degree in Behavioral Health or related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent reaching, sitting, standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
- Occasional driving.
- Rare repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements and squatting.
