Position Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Classification: Exempt

Position Type: Full time (183 day position)Salary Schedule: Teacher Assistants: Bachelor/RBT

Introductory Period: 90 days

Reports To: Classroom Teacher

Summary/Objective: A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a credentialed paraprofessional who works one-on-one in a classroom or works with all students within a sub-separate classroom receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. The goal of the RBT is to assist in teaching communication, social, daily living skills and reduce problematic behaviors as prescribed by the students educational and behavioral intervention plans. As an RBT, you will not be designing or assessing these plans. Instead, you’ll be working under close, ongoing supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst BCBA, BCaBA, or BCBA-Dto carry them out, as well as working under a Certified Special Education Teacher.

Essential Functions/Duties: Implementation of behavioral programs. Assist classroom teacher with the ongoing development of individual behavior programs. Data collection and collation. Implementation of de-escalation and restraint programs. General classroom duties as directed by the classroom teacher. Lifting, transfers and positioning of students. Assisting with activities of daily living and personal care. Assistance with routine classroom clerical and maintenance activities. Lunch, transportation, and recess duties as assigned by the classroom teacher. Implementation of inclusive activities as directed by the classroom teacher. Implementation of academic and applied behavior analysis programs per student IEP. Participation in community experience, vocational placements, and field trips. Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth. Communicates student issues and concerns to teacher and team members. Ensures student confidentiality. Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skills required to perform responsibilities effectively. Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. CPI Certified.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.
