Overview:
Under the supervision of the registered nurse, assist in the individualized care of the patient directed toward achieving the patients’ highest level of physical and mental wellness. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to nursing care. Assists in unit operational support tasks or duties. Performs duties and responsibilities in manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of one to two years of college undergraduate studies in Psychology or mental health related field. Successful completion of Basic Skills I course within one month of hire or transfer
- Experience: Minimum 6 months experience working in a mental health setting.
- Certifications: CPR Required
- Other: (skills, knowledge, abilities)
- Must have excellent oral and written skills, caring attitude, and assumption of responsibility.
- Must be able to deal appropriately with stressful situations.
- Working as part of a team is essential.
- Has regular contact with medical and nursing staff and significant contacts with patients and families.
- Job requires frequent lifting and positioning of patients.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Behavioral Health, Psych, or Direct Support
